LeBron James has given us our best look yet at the LeBron 24, and his latest Nike signature shoe appears to be shedding some weight.
James showed off the new model on Instagram, describing it as the lightest LeBron shoe Nike has made so far. However, a full Nike product announcement has yet to appear, so some details about the launch are still expected rather than confirmed.
The biggest change is KingKnit, a new material that makes up much of the upper. Two different knit patterns are used around the shoe, giving certain areas more structure, and the overall shape sits noticeably lower than some of the bulkier LeBron models from recent years.
Carbon fibre reinforces the midfoot, with a crown-shaped section carrying over some of the visual language from the LeBron 23. Nike Swooshes are kept relatively small towards the heel, and James’ own branding appears on the tongue.

The first colourway is a bright blue version known as “Shooting Star”. Black details break up the blue upper, and a translucent outsole continues the crown-inspired design beneath the shoe.
AdvertisementJames has also shown off several other colourways, including metallic silver, yellow and pink versions. A multicoloured pair also appears to take inspiration from Chinese New Year, while Nike has yet to reveal the full cushioning setup and other performance details.
As for when you can actually buy a pair, Hypebeast and other sneaker outlets point to November 17 for the Shooting Star launch. The expected US price is $200, but those details should still be treated as provisional until Nike confirms the rollout itself.
For now, the lighter construction is the most interesting change. The LeBron line has become increasingly technical over the years, but the 24 looks like it is trimming some of that bulk without moving away from its performance-first approach.
