Analysis:
The 49ers didn’t have enough firepower (or healthy bodies) to keep up with the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs last season, which is why the team went all-out this offseason in adding Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans, second-round WR De’Zhaun Stribling, and former 1,000-yard receiver Christian Kirk.
They also bolstered their defense in bringing back fan-favorite linebacker Dre Greenlaw, signing cornerback Nate Hobbs, and trading for high-upside defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, as well as drafting third-round edge-rusher Romello Height, and fourth-round defensive tackle Gracen Halton.
Whether or not those moves are enough to keep up with the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks remains to be seen, but with a healthy Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, and Mykel Williams coming back, and Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey leading the offense, the 49ers should be good for another 12-win season and a potential run at the NFC Championship Game.
