It's been almost one year since Tyrese Haliburton suffered a season-ending Achilles tear during the first quarter of the Indiana Pacers' Game 7 NBA Finals matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It's been a long journey for Haliburton, who underwent surgery to repair the injury on June 23, 2025. However, it appears the superstar point guard is making some serious recovery progress as he prepares for the Pacers' 2026-27 NBA season.
Haliburton posted a progress video on Tuesday, showing off a workout at Indiana's practice facilities. The two-time NBA All-Star moved well as he participated in on-court action and weight-room activity.

With Haliburton off the court for the entire 2025-26 NBA regular season, the Pacers went from a championship-contending team to one of the worst teams in the league. Indiana finished the regular season with a 19-63 record, leading only the Washington Wizards in overall NBA standings.

Haliburton experienced notable weight gain during his recovery process due to a bout with shingles. But, it appears he's already starting to shed some of that added weight.
“Once I get off that [medication] and start running a little more, I have no worries,” Haliburton said earlier this year. “I’ve got a long summer ahead of me — we’re only in April and the season doesn’t start till October. So I don’t really have any concerns. I can’t wait till I get out there and play and compete with my guys.”
