Newsweek reached out to the company via phone on Monday and left a voice message.
"Infected humans may display symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, fever, and lethargy," the alert says in part. "Severe infections can result in meningitis, abortion, and death. Pets exposed to contaminated food can be infected without showing symptoms. Infected pets, even if they do not show symptoms, can act as carriers and transfer Listeria monocytogenes through their feces and saliva."

The recalled products are sold in 2-pound or 5-pound clear plastic tubes, sealed on the end with metal clips, the alert says. Products are also sold frozen in cardboard boxes holding five to 20 tubes. White stick-on labels are on the boxes, the FDA says, identifying the product's flavor, ingredients and date codes.
The FDA alert lists out the products, their corresponding sizes and date codes. According to the agency, the additional batch date of March 31, 2026, was added for the recalled Beef and Turkey Medley product.
Food can be ordered from the company's website and picked up in person, per the alert. The recalled dog food was distributed to customers in Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Below is a map of the states impacted by the updated recall:
The alert says in part: "Based on testing conducted on samples collected by New Jersey Department of Agriculture, some finished products tested positive and tested negative to contain Listeria monocytogenes. Not all the food was tested.
"For your safety, please treat these products as potentially contaminated. We ask that you dispose of them in a secure manner so they cannot be accessed by people or animals."
All production of dog food was temporarily stopped on May 21. "This pause is necessary so we can carefully evaluate current issues, address them properly, and take appropriate corrective actions," the alert reads. Pet owners are advised against using, selling or consuming the recalled product and people are asked to discard the items "immediately to help reduce the risk of illness," it adds.
