Actor and comedian Bill Murray is gaining a lot of spotlight as he continues to appear throughout March Madness, enjoying his son Luke Murray's basketball games in the NCAA Tournament.

The proud father has been rooting for his son as he helps coach the University of Connecticut through multiple rounds of the tournament to reach the championship game. However, Luke will be leaving the Huskies as a coach after the championship run ends, and so he can officially begin his job as head coach of the Boston College Eagles for next season.

Meanwhile, just because Bill has been seen with other spectators cheering at basketball games, that doesn't mean he's retired and no longer working in entertainment. He's previously been nominated for the Oscar and Golden Globe for his roles in works, including "Lost in Translation," "Budapest Hotel," and "Rushmore," and could always receive future nominations.

The award-winning actor has multiple upcoming projects, including one in which he's not only starring but also an executive producer, as well as a film role alongside Oscar-winning Dustin Hoffman.

Bill Murray to star in 'Diamond' and 'Epiphany'

Four films are on Murray’s upcoming projects, with the movie “Diamond” currently filming. This one’s a contemporary noir tale about Joe Diamond, who, despite being haunted by his past, puts his wit and observational skills to use in solving crimes or revealing hidden truths.

"Diamond" also stars award winners Brendan Fraser and Dustin Hoffman, with actor Andy Garcia as the film's writer and producer. The movie is currently in production with no release date announced yet.

Murray’s ‘Epiphany’ has him in a starring role alongside fellow “Saturday Night Live” alum, Kristen Wiig. According to Variety, the film's director says it features "iconic roles" for these former Oscar nominees.

It’s a romantic comedy centering on a broke fashionista heiress named Favorite Ives (Wiig) who is in a race to marry rich and prevent herself from a financial disaster. During her journey, she’ll meet an “unusual billionaire mathematician” named Oz Bell (Murray) who might be able to help her solve her stressful situation.

This movie, which has no other actors attached to the cast details yet, is written and produced by Mitch Glazer ("Lost in Translation") and directed by Max Barbakow ("Scrooged"). Murray is also an executive producer on “Epiphany,” which is in pre-production with no release date yet.

'The Ploughmen' and 'The Springs' are also on the way

Also in pre-production is “The Ploughmen,” where Murray has the role of Copper County Sheriff. Based on the synopsis, it focuses on a friendship involving a “haunted deputy sheriff” and an old murderer, which “turns both their worlds upside down.”

Murray stars along with Amy Madigan, Nick Nolte, Owen Teague, and Lily Harris, with actor Ed Harris as co-writer and director of the film, per Variety.

Murray has "The Springs," in which he'll play a retired detective who has to put his skills to use after his brother is found dead at a retirement home. Murray is the only actor currently listed for the project, which is in development with Howard Franklin writing and Theodore Melfi directing.

Along with movie roles and cheering at sports events, Murray also has a band, Bill Murray & his Blood Brothers, which resumes their tour later this month. Featuring renowned blues guitarists Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia, along with Jimmy Vivino, they mostly perform classic rock and blues covers.

More details on tour dates and tickets are available at the band's official website.
