Trey McKenney converted a steal into a go-ahead layup with 1:07 remaining as Michigan knocked off previously unbeaten Nebraska 75-72 at home on Tuesday night. Morez Johnson Jr. finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Wolverines ran their winning streak to five, while McKenney provided 11 points off the bench. Elliot Cadeau handed out seven assists, and Yaxel Lendeborg and Aday Mara scored 10 points apiece.
Divine Ugochukwu canned a game-tying 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in regulation before the Spartans ran away in overtime on Tuesday night, avoiding an upset with an 88-79 victory at Rutgers. Jeremy Fears Jr. went for 29 points and nine assists, with Coen Carr scoring 13 points and Carson Cooper putting up 12 points and 14 rebounds. Jaxon Kohler also scored 12 points as Michigan State won its seventh game in a row.
Michigan State has won four consecutive games against the Wolverines, who lead the all-time series 104-92. Lendeborg averages 14.2 points for Michigan, while Johnson gets 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, Mara puts up 10.9 points and 2.6 blocks a night, and Cadeau books 10.1 points and 5.3 assists per contest. Fears leads the Spartans with averages of 14.1 points and 8.9 assists, with Kohler contributing 13.1 points and 9.3 boards per game.
